From 16–20 February 2026, a workshop for performance audit leaders was held in Stockholm, Sweden. The purpose of this seminar, organized by the Swedish National Audit Office, was to strengthen and develop the capacity of leaders to create conditions that enhance the quality and impact of performance audits.
The workshop brought together directors and managers from the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of Norway, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine, Uganda, Tanzania, Liberia, Somalia, Kenya, and Zimbabwe.
The Supreme Audit Institution of Albania was represented at this event by Mr. Aulent Guri, Head of the Performance Audit Department and Ms. Joniada Gocaj, Head of Quality Assurance and Standards Implementation Department.
During this seminar, a special discussion was held on “psychological safety”, which means ensuring a collaborative and supportive climate by encouraging discussion, open dialogue and the sharing of opinions or views, be they different, all with the aim of motivating staff and generating audit reports with quality and impact for the government and the public.

The experts from the Swedish SAI presented the way in which performance auditing is carried out in the Swedish SAI. An important aspect that was presented was the impact of the Performance Audit, which, although difficult to assess objectively, some of the criteria that can serve in its assessment are media coverage, sending questionnaires (after the audit is completed) to the audited entities on their impressions of the audit and the audit team, the reaction of the government and parliament, and the implementation of recommendations.
In this seminar, participants were invited to share their experiences regarding the management of various situations, reflecting on what they could have done better and what they can improve in the future in terms of managing audit activity.

At the end of the activity, all participants of this event were welcomed to a meeting by the Auditor General of the SAI of Sweden, Ms. Christina Gellerbrant Hagberg, who thanked them for their activation and dedication shown in this seminar.
