Participation Costs

Each SAI covers the cost of two nights’ accommodation in Tirana and the cost of travel to Albania.

Transportation

- Travel to and from Tirana Rinas Airport by taxi

The fastest way to get to/from TIA is by taxi, which is accessible in all cities and urban areas. The journey from Tirana International Airport to Tirana’s center takes 20–25 minutes, depending on traffic, and costs about 2200 ALL/22 EUR one way.

- Travel to and from Tirana Rinas Airport by bus

To serve the passengers, there is a regular bus line that offers 24 hour service 7 days a week. The bus is parked in Tirana behind the National Palace of Opera and Ballet. The journey takes 30-40 minutes. The cost of the fare is 400 Albanian Lek or 4 Euro. The busses are located outside the airport on the arrival side. Look for the logo of the company.

Social program

In the framework of the YES Conference, the organizers have planned a social program for participants, aimed at fostering professional interaction, exchanging experiences, expanding cooperation networks, and promoting Albanian cultural values and hospitality. The social program will take place following the conclusion of the conference’s official sessions and will include a range of cultural activities organized for the participants.

Upon the completion of the first day of the conference on June 9, participants will depart by organized transportation to Krujë. The program will begin with a visit to the National Museum “Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu” which is one of the most important and frequently visited museums in Albania. Following the museum visit, a dinner will be hosted for all participants, accompanied by traditional Albanian music and cuisine.

Detailed information regarding the schedule, venue, and dress code will be communicated to all participants in advance.

Weather

June in Tirana is typically characterized by warm and sunny weather, with daytime temperatures generally ranging between 25°C and 32°C. During this period, the city experiences long daylight hours and predominantly clear skies, providing favorable conditions for conference activities and social events. Rainfall is generally limited in June, contributing to a pleasant and enjoyable stay for participants.

Currency

The official currency of Albania is the Albanian Lek (ALL). However, the Euro is also widely accepted in many hotels, restaurants, shops, and tourist areas. Visitors are nevertheless advised to exchange a reasonable amount into Albanian Lek for everyday expenses and to use only official currency exchange offices. Most hotels, restaurants, and retail establishments accept major credit and debit cards, although carrying some cash may be useful for smaller businesses and local services.

To ensure the successful organization and visibility of the event, please note that participants may be subject to official audio and video recordings during the conference. These materials may be published on the website and social media channels of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution. Participants will be asked to sign a GDPR consent form during on-site registration. Participants who do not wish to appear in such recordings or related communication materials are kindly requested to inform the organizers in advance.

Tirana, the heart of Albania, is a destination where nature, history and modern rhythm harmoniously intertwine, creating a vibrant mosaic to discover. The capital of Albania is a modern and energetic city that combines history, culture and contemporary development. Tirana has a rich history, starting from the early Illyrian and Roman periods, then taking the form of an important center during the Middle Ages until its establishment as the capital in 1920. One of the most unique areas of Tirana is the New Bazaar, a space where tradition and modernity coexist. Here you will find markets with local products, artisan shops, bars and restaurants that make this area a lively meeting point for residents and visitors. Tirana also offers a number of museum and cultural institutions that reflect Albanian history, art and identity. Among the most important are: the National History Museum; the National Gallery of Arts; the Archaeological Museum; the House of Leaves; “Bunk'Art 1” and “Bunk'Art 2”; as well as the Et'hem Bey Mosque, one of the oldest monuments in the city.

Many of Tirana’s main tourist attractions are located within walking distance from the city center and the main hotel areas, including conference venue, offering visitors an excellent opportunity to comfortably explore the capital’s history, culture, and vibrant urban life. Skanderbeg Square – the city’s central square and most iconic landmark. Clock Tower of Tirana – a historic symbol of the city offering panoramic views. Tirana Castle (Toptani Castle) – a historic area featuring restaurants, cafés, and artisan shops. New Bazaar (Pazari i Ri) – a restored traditional market with modern restaurants and local products. The Pyramid of Tirana – one of the city’s most recognizable modern cultural landmarks. House of Leaves Museum – a museum dedicated to surveillance history during the communist era. Bunk’Art 2 – an interactive museum presenting Albania’s political and communist-era history.
