On January 21, 2026, the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Institution of Albania, Mr. Arben Shehu, accompanied by a delegation of ALSAI representatives, conducted an official working visit to the European Court of Auditors (ECA) in Luxembourg.

Several official meetings were held during this visit, including a special meeting with the President of the ECA, Mr. Tony Murphy, as well as meetings with members of Chamber III. During the discussions, issues related to contemporary audit methodologies, work programs for 2026, as well as opportunities for deepening cooperation between the two institutions were addressed.

Appreciating the cooperation with ECA to date, especially within the framework of professional practice programs, where the ALSAI has had 22 participating representatives so far, the Chairman of the ALSAI, Mr. Arben Shehu, stated that the further strengthening of this cooperation will contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and the adoption of best European practices.

The discussions continued with presentations from various ECA departments, which focused on areas of common interest, Artificial Intelligence strategies, as well as medium- and long-term strategic planning.
