On May 28, 2026, the Chairman of the ALSAI, Mr. Arben Shehu, together with representatives of the ALSAI, welcomed with the delegation of the Venice Commission, which is conducting an official visit to Albania during the dates of May 27 – 29, 2026, within the framework of the process of providing an opinion on the draft law “On the Financing of Political Parties”.
The meeting was held at the ALSAI premises where the importance of strengthening transparency, accountability and financial control mechanisms was discussed, in accordance with European standards and international best practices. During the conversation, the ALSAI representatives shared the institutional experience in terms of auditing and financial control with reference to the constitutional mandate, as well as assessments on the importance of a clear and effective legal framework for guaranteeing the integrity of political financing.
The ALSAI considers cooperation and dialogue with international institutions and organizations to be very important, seeing it as an opportunity to exchange experience and further strengthen standards of transparency and accountability. In this context, the institution remains committed to contributing to processes related to strengthening the rule of law.
