On April 23, 2026, the National Dialogue Conference: Strengthening institutional interaction for effective oversight was organized by the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) in the context of cooperation with the Supreme State Audit Office and the Financial Intelligence Agency, within the MATRA project “On strengthening public oversight and inter-institutional coordination” with the support of the Dutch Embassy in Tirana.

In his welcoming speech, the Chairman of the ALSAI, Mr. Arben Shehu, particularly thanked His Excellency, Ambassador Mr. Reinout Vos, for the support and appreciation shown for the work and contribution of the SAI to date, especially in strengthening the role of the institution through cooperation with counterpart institutions and international audit organizations. Also, Mr. Shehu, in his speech, emphasized that the ALSAI remains committed to contributing with professionalism, independence and a spirit of cooperation to any initiative that aims to increase transparency, the responsible use of public funds and the strengthening of accountability mechanisms, in order to increase citizens’ trust in public institutions and improve good governance in the country.

The conference addressed, among other things, the role of state actors and liberal professions to promote an integrated and collaborative approach towards interaction between them to promote transparency, integrity and a more effective oversight system in the country.
