As part of the official visits of foreign delegations present at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution, the Chairman of ALSAI, Mr. Arben Shehu, hosted in a bilateral meeting the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Vugar Gulmammadov.

The meeting constitutes an important step towards deepening cooperation between the two supreme audit institutions, with a focus on institutional development, public policy auditing and the exchange of advanced practices in financial and legal control.

In this context, Mr. Shehu and Mr. Gulmammadov signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which aims to strengthen cooperation through: exchanging professional experiences and knowledge in various fields of auditing, organizing study visits and joint trainings for auditors, and cooperating within the framework of INTOSAI, EUROSAI and other international platforms initiatives. Also, following this cooperation, it was agreed to conduct audits in the field of hydrocarbons.

The Chairman of ALSAI, Mr. Arben Shehu, noted the importance of inter-institutional partnerships in strengthening transparency, accountability and improving public services for citizens. On his part, Mr. Gulmammadov congratulated Mr. Shehu on the 100th anniversary of the institution and expressed the will to build a sustainable cooperation between the two institutions.

This meeting and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding mark an important step in the internationalization strategy of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution and the commitment of the institution to build sustainable bridges with counterpart institutions, promoting advanced standards in public auditing and financial governance.
