On November 18, 2025, the Chairman of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution, Mr. Arben Shehu, and representatives of ALSAI welcomed the delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities within the framework of their Mission in Albania regarding the monitoring of the European Charter of Local Self-Government. During the meeting, the delegation members appreciated the contribution of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution to the levels of good government, guaranteeing the transparency of public accounts at central and local levels.

The discussions also focused on other aspects of the European Charter of Local Self-Government and Recommendation No. 468/2021 of the Congress, the financial situation of municipalities and regions, as well as the procedures for financial supervision at the local level. The importance of several recommendations left by ALSAI audits was emphasized, as an indispensable tool for improving performance and financial management in local self-government units.
