On November 13, 2025, the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Institution of Albania and representatives of ALSAI welcomed the delegation of the International Monetary Fund in a meeting within the framework of their Mission to Albania under Article IV. During the meeting, the importance and role of independent external audit institutions, such as ALSAI, in strengthening good financial governance and ensuring public accountability were discussed. The Chief of the IMF Mission to Albania, Ms. Anke Weber, evaluted the contribution of ALSAI in increasing transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, as well as in improving the management of state financial resources.

Particular attention was paid to the main findings and issues identified during the audits of the state budget accounts, as well as their impact on the administration and planning of public finances. The parties also exchanged views on the challenges associated with the implementation of the state budget, with a focus on strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and improving financial control and reporting mechanisms.
