Skopje, 7–9 April 2026

On 7–9 April 2026, the workshop on “Climate Audit and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” was held, organized by the National Audit Office of the Republic of North Macedonia with the support of SIGMA/OECD.

The workshop focused on approaches and experiences in conducting audits related to climate and environmental changes, as well as discussions on the respective challenges faced by Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in their audit activities. Participating SAIs from European Union countries and the region presented their respective experiences, while also benefiting from the contribution of SIGMA/OECD experts regarding the recently published guidelines and standards.

Representatives of ALSAI took part in the discussions during the third panel, which focused on the main challenges faced by Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) when auditing climate change and environmental policies across different sectors and institutions, the key lessons learned from audits in this field, and how these lessons influence future audit planning and methodologies.
