The INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA), in cooperation with the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), launched a global joint audit project titled “Climate Change Adaptation Actions (CCAA)”. As a result of this project, the joint report “Global Climate Adaptation Audits for a Resilient Future: Findings and Recommendations from Supreme Audit Institutions” has been published.
As part of this project, the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution conducted the performance audit “Implementation of the National Adaptation Plan for Climate Change”, the report of which can be accessed at the link: https://klsh.org.al/raport-perfundimtar-auditimi-zbatimi-i-planit-kombetar-per-pershtatjen-ndaj-ndryshimeve-klimatike/
In the joint report published by IDI, the audit findings from Albania are also highlighted, stating that:
“Albania has a National Adaptation Plan that includes a strategic framework for climate adaptation actions; however, the plan lacks operational detail, is fragmented, and is not institutionalized. The audit found that the lack of continuity and integration weakens long-term adaptation efforts.”
