As part of the “Open Days” activities and the anniversary of the institution’s establishment, the Chairman and staff of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution (ALSAI) welcomed students and professors from the Faculties of Law, Economics, and Civil Engineering to a series of open meetings held on 20–22 May 2026.

During the meeting with students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana, the Chairman of the High Judicial Council, Mr. Ilir Rusi, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ms. Dorina Hoxha, were also in attendance. During the discussion with the students, Mr. Shehu highlighted the institutional journey, responsibilities, and mission that the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution (ALSAI) has upheld over the years in the service of the public interest, legality, transparency, and the strengthening of accountability in the management of public finances.

The Chairman of ALSAI emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue among public institutions, the justice system, and academia in strengthening the rule of law. In the continuation of the meeting, Mr. Shehu and Mr. Rusi responded to student’s questions regarding institutional activities, professional challenges, as well as the opportunities their institutions offer for internships and employment after graduation.

On the second day, the meeting was held with students from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana. The event was also attended by the Director General of the Financial Intelligence Agency, Mr. Ervin Koçi, as well as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Etleva Bajrami. Discussions focused on the constitutional role and activities of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution (ALSAI), as well as on the importance of transparency and oversight of public finances.

The open meetings at ALSAI continued with students and professors from the Polytechnic University of Tirana, together with experts in the fields of engineering and architecture. Mr. Artan Shkreli, along with representatives of the Association of Architects, also took part in the roundtable discussion.

The meeting addressed the main issues encountered in public infrastructure projects, as well as the cooperation between the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution and the Polytechnic University in support of students’ practical training and the treatment of matters of common interest.

In conclusion, Mr. Shehu emphasized that the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution considers support for students and academic excellence not only as an institutional responsibility, but also as an important investment in the future.
