The Chairman of ALSAI, Mr. Arben Shehu, and the Auditor General of the National Audit Office of Kosovo, Ms. Vlora Spanca, together with representatives of both institutions, conducted a cultural visit to the city of Vlora on April 10, marking the opening of the activities planned for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution.

The Independence Museum in Vlora, as one of the most important historical sites in Albania, where the Declaration of Independence was held on November 28, 1912, is a testament to the fight for freedom and independence, symbolizing an important event not only for Albania but also for the region.

The meeting between representatives of the two supreme audit institutions emphasized the importance of external audit of public finances as an essential pillar of good governance, transparency, and accountability.

The participants emphasized the importance of historical heritage, as well as the responsibility of institutions to preserve and further advance the values of professionalism and integrity in service of the public interest.

At the conclusion of the activity, representatives of the National Audit Office of Kosovo congratulated the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution on this important anniversary and expressed their appreciation for the institution’s role over the years, wishing continued success in all upcoming activities that will take place as part of this celebration.
