On January 28, 2026, at the Supreme State Audit (ALSAI) premises, the meeting was held with representatives of the European Commission audit mission arrived to discuss the management of Reform and Facility for Growth (RGF). The meeting held was the main goal of examining the ALSAI’s role in monitoring funds and ensuring a strong internal control system. Representatives of the institution presented their audit practices and involvement in reform planning, showing their experience and expertise in the supervision of public funds.

During the meeting, the ALSAI audit procedures, control mechanisms and key challenges related to the assessment of RGF funds were discussed. ALSAI representatives shared concrete examples of the audits carried out and how reform implementations are monitored, highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability at every step of the process. The European Commission mission expressed special interest in the knowledge and involvement of the institution, assessing the key role of ALSAI as a guarantee of the integrity of public funds.

The meeting strengthened inter-institutional cooperation and highlighted the importance of ALSAI’s role in a transparent fund management. It was considered an important step towards improving the quality of audits and strengthening the credibility of Albanian institutions in dealing with the challenges of reform and management of European funds.
