On Friday, 14 November 2025, ALSAI had the pleasure of hosting a technical meeting with a delegation from the UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA) at its premises in Tirana, Albania. The delegation from UAEAA included Mr. Khaled Abdulla Al Habsi, Director of Sovereign and Strategic Entities Affairs Department, Mr. Hussain Juma Hassan Abdulla, Head of Community and Humanitarian Affairs Section, Mr. Abdulla Al Jaberi, Senior Analyst, Mrs. Fatima Alhemeiri, Europe Affairs Specialist, Mr. Mohammed Faisal Albannay, Graduate Trainee – Europe Affairs Section and Mrs. Reem Al Kaabi, Graduate Trainee – First Research and Investigation Section.
The visit began with a warm reception by Mr. Arben Shehu, Chairman of ALSAI, who welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation between the two institutions. In his remarks, Mr. Shehu expressed ALSAI’s readiness to enhance communication channels and collaborative initiatives, highlighting the shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in public sector auditing. Furthermore, he expressed his appreciation for the leadership and professional achievements of the President of UAEAA, His Excellency Mr. Humaid Abushibs, acknowledging the UAEAA’s valuable contribution to the regional and international audit community.
Following the welcoming session, a technical meeting was held, bringing together the heads of ALSAI’s audit departments and the visiting UAEAA delegation. The session began with a presentation providing an overview of ALSAI’s organizational structure, mandate, and key activities. In turn, the UAEAA delegation shared insights into their institution and their dual mandate, providing a comprehensive perspective on the functioning of a leading audit authority in the region.
The discussions during the meeting covered the cooperation between the two institutions, including areas of mutual interest and potential future collaboration. The session provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences as participants also identified several topics for further dialogue, emphasizing the importance of continuous engagement to strengthen institutional capacities and foster knowledge exchange. The technical meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue dialogue and maintain close professional ties, reinforcing the partnership between ALSAI and UAEAA in the advancement of public sector accountability and governance
