The Chairman of the Albanian Supreme Audit Institution, Mr. Arben Shehu, held a meeting on June 3, 2025 with senior representatives of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), Mr. Chris Levick, WFD Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia; Mr. Damir Neziri, WFD Deputy Regional Director for the Western Balkans; Mrs. Valbona Kuka, WFD Director for Albania, as well as the representative from the British Embassy, within the framework of bilateral cooperation with the National Audit Office of the United Kingdom (NAO UK). In attendance at the meeting was also the Secretary General of the ALSAI, Mrs. Valbona Gaxha.

During the meeting, it was agreed to continue cooperation in building institutional capacity, in coordination with international partners, including NAO UK and regional counterparts. The Albanian Supreme Audit Institution has successfully implemented several training programs supported by WFD, for improving audit report writing techniques and methods, developing institutional communication strategy, and covering theoretical and practical aspects of communicating audit activities. These initiatives aim to draft a communication strategy and improved reporting mechanisms with Parliament, civil society, and the media, focusing on increasing transparency and accountability.
