In the framework of the cooperation agreement signed with ALSAI, the President of the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic, Ing. Miloslav Kala is paying an official visit to ALSAI.
The Czech Supreme Audit Office is one of Europe's most consolidated and modern Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs), founded in 1761. Ing. Kala is the First Deputy President of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI). On May 24, 2017, the EUROSAI XI Congress in Istanbul chose the Czech SAI to hold the presidency of EUROSAI for the period 2020-2023.
Today, on 2 August 2017, the President of Albania, Mr. Ilir Meta met in his office with the President of the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic, Ing. Miloslav Kala. President Meta stressed the traditional friendship between the two people, Czech and Albanian people and expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two Supreme Audit Institutions, which contributes to country's EU integration.
President Kala praised ALSAI's readiness to cooperate on the new initiatives undertaken by the Czech SAI within the framework of EUROSAI. He expressed his willingness to increase the cooperation and exchange of audit experiences between the Czech supreme auditors and ALSAI auditors.
In the central hall of the Academy of Sciences, on 2 August 2017, in the presence of ALSAI auditors, the President of the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic, Ing. Miloslav Kala gave a lecture on the importance for SAIs to use and process the digital information available to government agencies in the form of Big Data. He brought numerous cases from Czech audits on the Big Data of government projects and services, and introduced EUROSAI's database of audits for all European SAIs in English, a portal created and managed by the Czech SAO, with a view to serving as a virtual forum for exchange of experiences between European SAIs, based on the INTOSAI motto "Experentia mutua Omnibus prodest”
The meeting between the President of the SAI of Czech Republic Ing. Miloslav Kala and the Chairman of ALSAI, Mr. Bujar Leskaj focused on implementing the cooperation agreement signed last year, through projects that may include cooperative audits and joint training. The cooperation will also extend to the implementation of the EUROSAI Strategic Plan, especially the Strategic Objective no. 1 "Professional Cooperation", headed by the Czech SAI, in which activities ALSAI accepted the invitation of President Kala to participate and contribute.
In his speech, Chairman Leskaj praised the visit of Ing. Kala as one of the most important visits for ALSAI, due to the high profile of Czech SAI President, who has not only contributed as a personality in the Czech political life, where he hold important duties as mayor and MP and later in being affirmed as a central figure of the supreme European audit, with the positions he has held and initiatives he has taken over. "For ALSAI in its challenging journey to a modern European institution of auditing, the cooperation with senior figures and the best institutions of European auditing is an added value and an important asset," said ALSAI Chairman.
President Kala thanked Mr. Leskaj for the official support given at the X-th Congress of EUROSAI in the drive of the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic to seize the EUROSAI Presidency for the years 2020-2023 . He said that he came to ALSAI not only as the head of the Czech SAI, but also as the First Vice-President of EUROSAI, considering that the cooperation agreement with ALSAI could have pluri-dimensional impacts, not only by strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two institutions, but also in the framework of cooperation within the EUROSAI.
He pointed out that ALSAI has managed to distinguish itself as one of the most serious institutions in Albania. "The Supreme State Audit of Albania has undertaken major reforms, which have aligned itself with European auditing models and methodology. In Albania, you have achieved a high standard as a state institution, while your work has marked important impacts on good governance. As President of the Czech SAI and as Firt Deputy President of EUROSAI, I would like to confirm my will to support ALSAI in overcoming the challenges it faces in implementing the international audit standards. "
Chairman Leskaj emphasized that ALSAI is an institution aware of its role in the fight against corruption and the challenge to lead by example. He stated that "The Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic is an example of what we must achieve and I am convinced that the implementation of the cooperation agreement will be highly productive to us, for the development of audit methodology and for increasing the contribution of ALSAI in the fight against corruption ".
