ALSAI signs the Agreement on Cooperation with the Office of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina

On July 17 2013, Mr.Bujar Leskaj, Chairman of ALSAI and Mr.Milenko Sego, General Auditor of the Audit Office of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed an Agreement on Cooperation between the two institutions.



The Albanian delegation present to this agreement was headed by Mr.Bujar Leskaj, and was composed by Mrs.Albana Pengili senior auditor in the Performance audit department, and three other auditors of ALSAI, Mrs.Evis Çela, Mr.Genci Koka and Mr.Alush Zaçe.
Mr.Milenko Sego, was accompanied by two Deputies of this Office, Mrs. Božana Trincić and Mr. Dževad Nekić, as well as by auditor and management staff.
There was present as well, Mr.Fiqiri Kllari, Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Albania, which helped for the signing of this agreement.
The Audit Office of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the highest audit institution for the audit of public institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The powers of the Audit Office shall apply to all public institutions and it is managed by an Auditor General and two Deputies.
The Audit Office shall notify the relevant institutions and the general public on the findings and recommendations of audits by its audit reports. The Audit Office may decide to set up regional offices when they are needed for their economic stability.
This mutual agreement, was prepared under the basis of respect, mutual trust and cooperation, in accordance with the principles of INTOSAI. In the Lima Declaration (the core document of Supreme Audit Institutions), it is emphasized that exchange of experience and information, helps SAI’s to accomplish their constitutional duties.
During the signing of the agreement, both parties were familiarized with the respective activities of both institutions as well as held discussions with regard the mutual cooperation. The ALSAI delegation presented the latest publications made during 2012-2013. The members of the Bosnian delegations expressed very much their interest on such publications. On this matter, Mr.Leskaj, Chairman of ALSAI, invited his homologue of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as other executives and auditors of the institution, to cooperate in concrete in the scientific newsletter “Public Audit”, which is also open to their writings.
The signing of this agreement is important for ALSAI, as it paves the way to collaboration and joint actions at a bilateral level. Based on this agreement, the Supreme State Audit Office of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will share proper experiences in the field of financial or performance audit, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.
